Hip Hop Crusher FAQ
Why can’t I just go on Youtube and learn to dance?
It takes alot of work and time to sift through videos to find good instruction by qualified dancers. We take all the work out of learning to dance by presenting an organized course taught by not 1, but 10 working dancers. The lessons progress through basic to intermediate.
I have never taken dance classes. Will this be too hard for me?
Not at all! This course was made for beginners so we explain all the steps and moves. With front, side and back views, as well as close ups of the feet, you will find it easy to follow and learn.
I have learned other moves and combos to songs but don’t feel confident trying them at dances.
Hip Hop Crusher explains how you can change tempo, vary moves and make them your own – so you can adapt the moves to any music. You learn travelling moves, on the spot moves and how to change the arms, posture and look to give the same moves a different ‘look’.
Other dance DVD’s go way too fast and I have to keep stopping the video then trying to find my spot.
Hip Hop Crusher is different because each lesson is individual. You learn that lesson at your own pace then click to go to the next one. Take as much time as you need to be comfortable with each step or move, then you will look great putting the moves together in our combos.
How long do I need to have to do the lessons?
There are hours worth of lessons on Hip Hop Crusher, but how long you choose to spend on lessons each day is up to you! This course is completely flexible as the lessons are individual. You pick your warm up, your lessons and combos. Do 20 minutes or 2 hours – it is up to you!
How do I know the lessons are age appropriate?
This course is specifically for kids and teens. The music is ‘clean’ and the moves are too. The course is parent approved and designed for use in schools, homes, organizations, camps and studios.
My child already takes some dance lessons. Does this course replace those lessons?
Live studio lessons are valuable as students can get immediate feedback and enjoy a group setting. This course is designed to give kids who do not have access to high level professional dancers the opportunity to learn and improve their skills. Many kids who take dance lessons like the edge and confidence it gives them to improve their skills. The course may also help the dancer gain confidence and join competitive or higher level programs where more dance education and skills are required.
Why should my child learn hip hop if my dance studio does not offer it?
Some studios and areas do not offer hip hop – which is a very different form of dance from traditional dance styles. Some studios are more ballet based or do not have trained hip hop teachers. Most dance competitions now have hip hop or street style categories. However, most kids want to learn hip hop because it is currently the most popular form of dance – used in music videos, talent shows and school dances. This course can give them the moves and confidence they need to do this popular form of dance.
Is everyone in the video a professional dancer already?
Hip Hop Crusher features top name dance performers and instructors – who have worked with some of the biggest names in entertainment. However, they are ‘live’ teaching teen age girls, so other kids can learn along with them without being intimidated.
There are lots of dance DVDs out there. Why should I choose this course?
This course is designed specifically for kids and teens that want to learn or improve their hip hop skills. Unlike other DVDs, this course offers individual lessons so they can learn at their own pace. There is not just 1 point of view from 1 teacher but 10 top teachers each help the dancer learn new moves and combos. There are over 60 lessons, 4 warm ups, 8 combos and a Master Class. Plus, students learn basics like posture, attitude, balance and how to change and adapt the moves to suit any song. They don’t just learn a move – they learn to dance!
There are rumours that I may be able to upload and share my completed dance combo and win prizes or free access to other programs and courses offered by Dance Crusher. This sounds fun, is it true?
Alright, whose spreading rumours again? Must be the web programmer who overheard us at a recent Crusher Crew meeting. Let’s just say that this sounds like a great idea and if we get enough positive feedback, we may just feature your dance on one of our pages and enter you to win HipHopCrusher t-shirts and other prizes. So if you read this far and you think it is a good idea (and you are a member of the Beginner Hip Hop Dance Course), send us a quick email with your username to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will put you on the list in case we launch this – even more reason to polish your moves and combos! Any contests we start will be posted in the member area, so you will see them announced at the top of your member Dashboard along with any other important messages.
