Jabbawockeez to Receive the Living Legend of Hip Hop Award August 5
Jabbawockeez are to receive the Living Legend of Hip Hop Award on Aug. 5, 2012 at the Orleans Arena.
The crew was formed in 2003 and has become one of the best travelled and well-known hip hop dance crews in the industry. Originally,
they all were part of other dance groups, so they decided to wear masks to hide their identities. This became their trademark look.
They were in the right place at the right time after becoming more popular on Youtube, they decided to try out for the first season of ABDC (America’s Best Dance Crew) and that is when things really took off.
After performing on tv and in commercials like the Pepsi commercial, they also tried out at MGM in Las Vegas and landed their show MUS.I.C. in the Hollywood Theater at MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in May 2010 which ran from May 7 to May 26, 2010 . David Copperfield was also part of that show. They then went on to perform down the street at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino and then flew half way around the world to start their gig at the Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
Jabbawockeez is a dance crew originally from San Diego that is made up of 7 hip hop dancers who won the first season of ABDC. Choregraphy is done collectively and there have been several Jabbawockeez members since the original group of 2003.
